FAQs

What compliance training is mandatory for companies in India?

The primary mandatory compliance training requirements for Indian organisations are: PoSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) awareness training under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2013, required for all organisations with 10 or more employees; and information security awareness training under ISO 27001, required for organisations with ISMS certification or pursuing it. Sector-specific requirements may add further obligations — BFSI organisations face additional regulatory training requirements under RBI and IRDAI frameworks, for example.

Is PoSH training required every year?

The PoSH Act requires "regular" awareness programmes, which is broadly interpreted as at least annually. Most organisations run PoSH training for all new joiners at induction and for all employees on an annual cycle. The Internal Committee is required to confirm in its annual report to the District Officer that awareness programmes have been conducted.

Can compliance training be delivered online?

Yes. Online compliance training is legally valid provided it covers the required content and completion is properly documented.
